Mango Lassi

It is going to be hot, hot, hot again today. Time to make the most of the wonderful mangoes in the stores right now. They are sweet and juicy – perfect for this lassi and on ‘sale’ too!

Just blend this wonderfully fresh, healthy and fragrant drink. Perfect at breakfast time, or refreshing on a hot afternoon.

Mango Lassi

2 large or 3 small glasses

  • 350g fresh mango, chopped
  • 250g fat free natural yoghurt
  • 50ml milk
  • 2 teaspoons runny honey
  • 2 cardamom pods, seeds ground
  • Ice cubes, optional

  1. Grind the cardamom seeds with a pestle and mortar. Set some aside for sprinkling on the lassi.
  2. Place all the ingredients in the blender, adding some ice if you wish. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses. Sprinkle with a little ground cardamom and serve immediately.

  1. This looks so refreshing, Jo! It is super hot and humid here and this would be just the thing. I made mango lassi only once and on the fly so I’m glad to have a real recipe to go by now. We love mangoes and I’ll definitely be trying this.

My kids love mangoes so they really enjoyed helping me make this and drinking it! Ultimately, the recipe is flexible, according to taste Monica, but this is what works for us in terms of texture, flavour and sweetness! Have a great 4th July 🙂

  2. What a refreshing summer drink, Jo! I’ve been meaning to try a mango lassi for months, but mangoes are to hard to find here! 🙁 This looks lovely though xxx
